UHMWPE = Ultra-High-Molecular-Weight Polyethylene.

Ion Permeability \u2013 Why Faster Charging Isn\u2019t Just Marketing<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Everyone wants 10-minute charging. But if your Li-ion battery separator can\u2019t shuttle ions fast enough, you either get slow charging or you cook the battery.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

UHMWPE membranes have a more uniform, interconnected pore structure (think Swiss cheese made by perfectionists). Result? Lower tortuosity \u2192 ions take a straighter path \u2192 higher ionic conductivity \u2192 you can push higher C-rates without the battery throwing a tantrum.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
